‘Cycle Halo’ is a standing lamp, Hand made series 1/5 and signed. The design of the lamp resulted from the attempt to take the wheel of the bike, pull it out of its context and give it a new one. The movement of the wheel in its past use is reinterprets into the movement of light – creating a halo looking light. The lamp’s structural design stemmed from a desire to examine the balance between using the existing features of the object and detaching from the past to create new features that suit the new use.
